Hi everyone!
I know that it has been a few weeks since I've posted....but I'm back!
For those of you in VA, the Aldean Army presale for Jason's March 23, 2012 (it's Friday, it's Friday) show at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville will start tomorrow at 10am. If you're not an Aldean Army member (via www.jasonaldean.com), either become one between now and tomorrow morning, or wait until Friday 12/2 to buy your tickets with everyone else!
Also, be sure to tune in tomorrow night (Wednesday, 11/30) at 10pm EST on CBS for the Grammy Nominations concert. JA will be performing on this show, which leads me to believe that he will be nominated in at least one category.
Jason's latest single, Tattoos on this Town, is up 4 spots this week to #2 on the Billboard Country Songs chart! You may be interested to know that the #1 single this week is Country Must Be Country Wide by Brantley Gilbert. Most of you know that Gilbert wrote/co-wrote both My Kinda Party and Dirt Road Anthem, so I would like to attribute some of his current popularity to the success of these two singles as performed by JA. There. I said it.
Anyway, if I can keep my eyes open tomorrow night, I will try to post my thoughts from the Grammy Nominations show. Have a great Wednesday!

CMAs Update
OK, well, 2 out of 5 ain't bad!
Congratulations to Jason Aldean for winning ALBUM OF THE YEAR for My Kinda Party and to him and Kelly Clarkson for winning MUSICAL EVENT OF THE YEAR!
More updates, pics, opinions of mine, etc to come tomorrow....after I recover from whatever hangover I have from playing this random drinking game that I have won because apparently I am only competing against myself.
Winning!

CMAs Preview!
Happy CMAs Eve, y'all!
Hope you're having a great week thus far!
I decided that Hubs and I should post a 'who should win vs. who will win' scenario in preparation for the show tomorrow night. I wonder how we will turn this into a drinking game to be played during the broadcast?

Tomorrow night I will be updating this post to reflect who actually wins (if the drinking game portion hasn't become too intense, that is).

New Format!!!
Hi everyone!
Today is a red letter day for us because, as you can tell, we have switched formats to the much more user-friendly Google Blogger!
This means that you can now login and leave comments on ANY of my posts! It was crucial for me to get this done in time for CMA's week, and thanks to my in-house tech guru, we made it just in time (thanks, Hubs!!)
Anyway--check out the new format and let me know what you think. Will post more tomorrow....thinking of doing a 'who should win vs. who will win' scenario for the CMA's, but I think I'm a pretty biased observer!

Monday, 10.31.11
Happy Halloween, everyone! I hope you're having a fun day. Today is also my parents' 36th wedding anniversary, so hope you're having a great day, Mom and Dad! Surely, they would love the gift of updated JA news, right? It's the gift that keeps on giving!
This week, Tattoos on this Town is up one spot at #10 on the Billboard Country Songs Chart--making Jason Aldean the only country artist thus far in 2011 to have 4 singles in the Top 10!
The 2011 MKP tour has wrapped, but JA has plenty to do this fall, with multiple nominations in the CMA's and the AMA's in November, as well as a performance slot on the Grammy Nominations Concert at the end of the month, followed by the ACA's in early December. Can't wait!
OK, so last week, our friends at www.tasteofcountry.com posted their list of the Top 10 JA songs. While my own personal opinions differ from theirs, I do appreciate their statement that "it'd be unfair to call Jason Aldean a superstar-in-the-making. The string of sold-out amphitheatre shows and an Entertainer of the Year nomination at the CMA awards are more than enough to remove the 'in-the-making' tag." That part we agree on!
Their Top 10 list is calculated using a BCS-like logarithm combining chart position, single sales, Taste of Country staff opinions and reader feedback.
Here goes:
10. Johnny Cash 9. Dirt Road Anthem 8. Crazy Town 7. Hicktown 6. Why 5. Amarillo Sky 4. My Kinda Party 3. Don't You Wanna Stay 2. She's Country
1. Big Green TractorNow, my Top 10 list is calculated using a much simpler equation, and the one that is most important to me--my opinion. The songs on my list were not necessarily released as singles, so if you are a casual JA fan and you haven't heard some of these songs, go listen to them!
Here's my list (and why I chose them):
10. Flyover States (while I have no attachment to the Midwest, I like the picture he paints in the lyrics)
9. Amarillo Sky (this song is a great commentary on Southern family values and work ethic)
8. Johnny Cash (this song melds new country and old-school really well, and is just fun) 7. Hicktown (Ashley was hooked on JA from the moment this hit the airwaves, and set the tone for the rest of us!)
6. On My Highway (very reflective and introspective song....to this day I can't get through it without shedding a tear)
5. Use What I Got (this tune flat-out inspires me to be my best self. Give it a listen and you'll understand)
4. My Kinda Party (hey, we do agree on one....if there was ever an ode to the weekend, this is it)
3. Tattoos on this Town (this song inspired me to pick up Hubs' drumsticks for the first time)
2. Dirt Road Anthem (I grew up on a dirt road! You can't listen to this song and be in a bad mood afterwards)
1. She's Country (this is the one that started it all for me)
Since I don't yet have comments enabled here, hit me up on Facebook (Chasin Aldean) and let me know your Top 10!
Talk soon!
Tuesday, 10.25.11
Hi all! Hope your week is going well. I'm hating these shorter days already....but one thing I'm not short on is JA news, so off we go!
As I promised y'all on Sunday, I have some rave reviews to share from a couple of recent shows on Jason's west coast leg of the My Kinda Party tour. The first is from David Burger of the Salt Lake Tribune of JA's Saturday night (10.22) show in Salt Lake City, UT.
Mr. Burger writes, "Jason Aldean is a rock star. And I was at a rock show, no matter how many cowboy hats I saw in the absolutely packed-to-the-gills Maverik Center Saturday night." After comparing JA's crossover success to Taylor Swift and Shania Twain, with Dirt Road hitting #7 on the multi-genre Billboard 200 chart this summer, Burger enthuses, "once the blue-jeaned, denim-shirted and cowboy hat-wearing Aldean takes the stage, you are treated to the brightest light show this side of the sun, with about a thousand people sitting close to the stage bathed in fluorescent light as if the house lights are shining down on them." Burger also gives us his thoughts about what makes JA so appealing: "Aldean is able to deliver lines with such conviction and intensity that even though he doesn't write most of the music, he can sell a song to a songbird. And he had such belief in the songs that even before the halfway point, he had already performed his latest four chart-topping singles, not caring that Dirt Road Anthem would be an encore or closing song for most other performers. Rarely do performers show such conviction and faith in an audience." With that, the author apparently needed to excuse himself to do some laundry and take a nap, and summarizes, "overall, it was a show that packed a punch and left you exhausted and sweaty, a sensation that usually only accompanies rock shows."
Sounds like that guy got more than he bargained for from JA! You can check out his full review at www.sltrib.com
Next up, we have a review from JA's show in Reno, NV on Sunday night (10.23) from Scott Oxarart with Metromix Reno (www.reno.metromix.com). While Oxarart's review was short and sweet, he did seem to have fun at the show, giving the article the tagline "Aldean Makes Fourth Trip to Reno his Best Yet." Apparently, JA had fun too....the author says that Jason gave one lucky fan a 21st birthday gift she would never forget. He pulled her up on the stage, gave her a hug, and did a shot of tequila with her (wonder if it was his (and my) favorite...Patron?).
Oh, another JA news item I wanted to share that came about today is that Jason is one of the first artists confirmed (along with Lady Gaga) for a performance slot on the "Grammys Nominations Concert Live!!--Countdown to Music's Biggest Night" that will air on CBS at 10pm EST November 30. Awkward concert title notwithstanding, I think that this announcement is a sign of great news to come...specifically, at least one Grammy nod for JA! As we all know, the Grammys are the Holy Grail of the music industry, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my suspicions are correct!
That's all for today...have a great evening!
Sunday, 10.23.11
Hi everybody! What a beautiful Sunday morning we're having here in Richmond, and I get to spend it doing a few of my favorite things...drinking coffee, enjoying the quiet, and sharing some fun updates about JA. While I'm sure he enjoyed his 3-week break and spent some quality time with his family and friends (and his barn/man cave), I'm glad JA has hit the road again because it means more work for me!
In doing my research yesterday I found an article on www.denverpost.com entitled "Jason Aldean Becomes a Big Hit among Songwriting Elite." The article talks of Jason's struggle to "attract the attention of Nashville's finest, most storied and proven songwriters" on his first three albums. As we all can surmise, that all changed after the release of Wide Open, which produced the #1 hits She's Country, Big Green Tractor, and The Truth.
Country's best-selling album of 2011, My Kinda Party, has made JA one of Country music's A-Listers, and the author of the Denver Post article feels that Jason should have no problem taking his star power even further on his upcoming 5th album. Jason plans to hit the studio in November, and as we previously reported, he's armed with a pile of about 25 songs to choose from. Jason told the Post that while his signature Country-Rock mashup style won't change, he says, "you wanna try something new with every record...the last thing you want to do is go in and make the same album over and over." He also teases, "we don't have any guest stars just yet, but we're working on a couple surprises for the fans." He also mentions that he aims for an early Summer 2012 drop on his yet-to-be-named 5th album.
Has anyone else suddenly become really excited for Summer 2012 to arrive, or is it just me?
In chart news, Tattoos on this Town is up two more spots on the Billboard Country Songs chart this week and currently sits at #11, so he's knocking on the door of the Top 10 yet again! His label mates, Thompson Square, are right behind him this week at #12 with their latest single, I Got You. I'm sure their recent surge in popularity can be attributed to their opening spot on this leg of the MKP tour, so cheers to continued success for them as well.
That's all I am going to give y'all for today, but this week I will be comparing another website's list of Top 10 Jason Aldean songs to my own Top 10 list, and will be posting some reviews of recent JA concerts as well. In the meantime, remember to check out the ACA and AMA awards sites and vote for JA in the categories he's nominated in. The links to those sites is on the "JA's Calendar" page.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Tuesday, 10.18.11
I'm back!! I hate that it has been almost a week since I last posted, but we had a great trip to NYC (although I'm sad that I had no celeb sightings!) and I think I am finally ready to resume my normal life!
Awards season is upon us, and JA is really racking up the nominations and accolades!!
We already know that Jason is up for 5 CMA awards (the most prestigious in Country music as they are industry-voted) and 2 American Music Awards, as well as being named one of CMT's Artists of the Year for the second year running. Some other recently announced nominations include Eventful's "Best Tour of the Year" as well as leading the field with 8 American Country Award nods, such as:
-Artist of the Year, both Overall and Male
-Album of the Year, My Kinda Party-Single of the Year, Male--My Kinda Party-Single of the Year, Collaboration--Don't You Wanna Stay, feat. Kelly Clarkson
-Touring Headline Package of the Year
-Music Video, Male--My Kinda Party-Music Video, Collaboration--Don't You Wanna Stay, feat. Kelly Clarkson
Not a bad year for a guy who told www.theboot.com that he expected 2011 to be a "learning year" for him as he embarked on his MKP arena tour! More on that interview in our next post.
The air dates and times for these awards shows are posted on our "JA's Calendar" page, so put those dates on your calendar and tune in!
Chat soon! Have a great Wednesday.
Wednesday, 10.12.11
Whew, what a crazy week it's been! However, it's Friday for me, because I'm off to NYC tomorrow! It will be my first visit there so I'm excited. Wonder if I'll have any celeb sightings?
Anyway, it's been a pretty slow news week, what with JA being on break from his tour. The only notable news I have is that Jason was nominated for two American Music Awards this week....he's up against Brad Paisley and BlakeGeneric Shelton for Favorite Country Male Artist and he'll battle The Band Perry and T. Swizzle for Favorite Country Album. Although I appreciate the nods in JA's direction, I don't hold a very high opinion of this awards show. He was nominated for Favorite Country Male last year, too, but got no performance slot because it's pretty much a teeny-bopper, voted by the fans show. Basically, if you want to see a bunch of R&B artists and T. Swift performing their songs with them, then you should tune in on November 20th at 8pm on ABC. I guess, to summarize, this awards program is pretty meaningless to me. Unless JA wins.
Oh, another pretty cool thing is that Colt Ford is performing tonight at the South Central Fair, which is semi-local to my hometown in Chase City, VA. If you went to this show and you're reading this, let me know your thoughts on his performance!
I'm going to TRY to post while I'm in NYC later on in the week....fingers crossed for my brush with fame!
Enjoy the rest of your work week; I'll be thinking about you all!
Sunday, 10.9.11
Well, guys, the end of another weekend is here, and it has been an absolutely gorgeous one in Richmond, VA. So much so that I have brought my work outside today....I'll consider this post a success if I dodge a direct hit from a falling acorn as I type!
As I mentioned on Thursday, the chasinaldean crew, with heavy hearts and light wallets, decided to cancel our trip to the Shelby, NC Corn 'Maize.' So, we decided to make the best of it yesterday by traipsing around Richmond in our VT orange-and-maroon themed www.chasinaldean.com shirts!
OK, on to our Sunday charts update....
JA's latest single, Tattoos on this Town, is up 3 spots from #18 to #15 on this week's Billboard Country Songs chart and was once again named a 'greatest gainer.' In fact, it is now playing on the radio as I type this! Can't wait to see it break into the Top 10 in its march to #1! That's not all--Dirt Road Anthem currently sits at #3 on their Ringtones chart in its 27th week of release--with many of those weeks spent at #1. Apparently, the Adult Contemporary listeners want JA and Kelly Clarkson to stay on their airwaves too, as Don't You Wanna Stay moved up one spot on their chart this week to #4. Finally, My Kinda Party, the best-selling Country album of 2011, is still holding strong this week at the #2 spot.
Speaking of My Kinda Party, JA's (freaking amazing) tour of the same name is on break until 10.21, when he heads out west for performances in Denver, Salt Lake City, Reno and L.A. before taking a hiatus until January. Wonder how much of that time he'll spend hunting? He recently hunted in Louisiana with the Buck Commander crew, and plans another outing in Kansas next month.
If you haven't done so already, check out our Pics page for some images from Charlottesville, Roanoke, and our friend Tina's pics from Panama City, FL have now been posted as well...here's one!
Also (as my Dad would say), Twitter us (@chasinaldean) on Facebook (Chasin Aldean)!
Have a great afternoon!
Thursday, 10.6.11
Happy Friday Eve, everyone! The chasinaldean crew had originally planned on making a trip to the Shelby, NC Corn 'Maize' so we could get lost in JA on Saturday, but that was before I actually looked at Google Maps and saw that it is a 6-HOUR drive from Richmond! Now, normally I would jump on a road trip, but since I have been depositing most of September's income directly into JA's wallet (two show month), my pocketbook is looking pretty bare. So, I think that plan will have to change. If any of you guys have been or will go to the 'Maize,' please send me pics so I can live vicariously through you.
If you haven't clicked on the 'pics' page in a while, you're in for a treat. I've posted the first 25ish pics from last Friday's "Rockin' the Ribbon" show in Roanoke, VA and there are more to come. Also, Tina, a friend of our site, has given us permission to post some pics she took at the Panama City, FL show a couple of weeks ago, so those will be posted soon (Thanks, Tina!). My hosting service's photo uploader leaves a little (OK, lots) to be desired when it comes to being fast and user-friendly, so I will get them all posted eventually. Think of it as having something to look forward to. *UPDATE: more pics just now posted from Roanoke!!!*
Enough about me. On to the news of the day!
Yesterday, CMT named their honorees for their 2011 Artists of the Year, and guess who's on the list for the second year in a row?! JA, along with Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, and Taylor Swift will be honored in a 90-minute program to air on Tuesday, 12.13. Jason, Lady A, and Taylor are all second-time honorees (2010 was the inaugural event). More details are forthcoming as the host and other performers are announced.
Now, in BIG JA news.....drumroll.....The MKP Tour has been extended into 2012!!! The initial list of cities was announced today, and I'm very excited for two reasons. The first is that JA will once again visit nearby Charlottesville, VA next year, and the second is that he will have Luke Bryan with him in 2012! You may be aware that Luke toured with JA in the past and that they are great friends; however, in all of my 6 JA shows, Luke was never with him. I think that Luke and JA's styles complement each other nicely, so this should be fun for all involved (I should note here that I also really liked Eric Church as an opening act for JA because he's a total effing badass, but I didn't enjoy Chris Young as much). Anyway--as I'm sure you can imagine, the www.chasinaldean.com crew will definitely be attending the Charlottesville show (and any others within a 150 mile radius), regardless of the date, day of the week, weather, or predictions of doom on the Mayan calendar! Once the tour dates are lined up, we'll be posting them on the Calendar page, so keep checking back!
With that said, I'm out for now! Enjoy your Friday!
Monday, 10.3.11
Happy Monday!
Thought I'd slide in a 'teaser' pic of JA from the show on Friday night....many more photos will be loaded as the week progresses, I can promise you! I think PINK is a great color for him!
Now for some chart and tour revenue updates from our friends at Billboard:
JA's latest single, Tattoos on this Town, is up 5 spots (from 23 to 18) on Billboard's country songs chart this week in its 7th week of release. If you haven't seen the video yet and don't mind shedding a tear or two, check out the video further down on this page.
In tour news, the My Kinda Party tour is chugging along in ticket sales. Billboard has named it the #3 tour for September 15-25 across all genres, raking in just over $2 million for the four shows during that period, with attendance of over 56,000 fans. For comparison's sake, Sir Elton John's three-show set in September had just shy of 18,000 attendees, but grossed almost $2.5 million. That means fans were paying about $135 per ticket on average to see Elton John, versus just under $36 per ticket average for a JA show.
And what an entertaining show the dude throws down! The folks at The Roanoke Times agree in their review of Friday's show. After mentioning his huge donation (just over $315k) to the Roanoke chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, they write, "it's hard to dislike a guy who will give up that big a payday. Not that he won't see plenty more like it. His combination of Georgia-drawl vocals with hard-rock riffs and average Joe lyrics is what's selling these days. And Friday, he and his groove machine of a five-piece band laid out hit after hit....Aldean worked the crowd like he was an old buddy who just happened to be onstage rocking for people, getting them to wave their hands in the air with him while he sang and rapped through Dirt Road Anthem."
Glad they enjoyed the show as much as the chasinaldean crew!
OK, that's all for now....well, almost! Thought I'd mention too that we're now on Twitter (@chasinaldean) and we have a fan page on Facebook (Chasin Aldean). Also, we're 99% sure that our outing to the Shelby, NC Corn Maze (featuring...who else?) will take place this Saturday (10.8). Apparently my assignment this week is to design a new set of www.chasinaldean.com attire for myself, Mumba, and Ash to rock on Saturday, so I've got my work cut out for me!
Now I'm done. Check back throughout the week for more pics and updates!
Sunday, 10.2.11Happy October! The Hubs and I are recovering from a great weekend with friends and family, and we all know that the very best part was spending Friday evening with JA in Roanoke, VA! The chasinaldean crew rocked our t-shirts for the event (and we got a little attention for it, too!) and the first-timers (and the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh timers) had a blast at the show!
I took almost 200 pics from the show, as did Mumba, so we'll be spending the early part of the week sorting through them and posting them to the site! We'll also be posting some of our 'regular' other news such as links to articles and chart notes.
So, for now, I will leave you with a bittersweet little story. On Friday night, a video was shown on the big screen during the show about Jason and wife Jessica's late friend, Melissa, who bravely battled and eventually succumbed to breast cancer in her late twenties. After Melissa's death, Jason and Jessica pledged to use his music to raise awareness and funds so that her passing would not have been in vain. For the past six years, Jason has chosen a city on his tour whose chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure would receive 100% of the proceeds from that show. This year, Roanoke, VA was the chosen city. After announcing that the previous fundraising record was about $138,000, Jessica joined Jason onstage to present a check to the foundation with the proceeds from Friday's show....in the amount of $315,000!!! It was an amazing moment.
Talk to you tomorrow!
Thursday, 9.29.11
Alright, y'all....T Minus 24 hours til JA! T-shirts are done for the 6 girls in our group, the laundry is being done as we speak, and I am getting ready to crack into my celebratory adult beverage (it is Friday for me, after all!) I am even more excited for the 4 JA concert newbies that will be with us tomorrow night...they are in for a real treat!
Today is a really slow news day (my being totally psyched isn't something the rest of the world really cares about, apparently), but on Saturday (or Sunday, at the latest) there will be more info on here than you can shake a stick at! We'll have pics and a review of the show, funny anecdotes from our trip, charts news, and whatever else strikes our fancy.
Stay tuned!
Tuesday, 9.27.11Only 3 MORE DAYS until my 6th JA show in Roanoke! The chasinaldean crew is really getting excited now that we have our exclusive commemorative shirts ready...look for us in our www.chasinaldean.com gear on Friday and come say hi! We won't bite!
Hubs and I are also experimenting with a different site builder this week, so please bear with us until we find the best way to not only deliver information to you, but also to accomplish our goal of creating a place where fellow JA fans can post pics, stories, and discuss shows, songs, and albums.
With that said....on to the news of the day!
JA holds two of the Top 5 requested videos on CMT today...Tattoos on this Town is at #2 and Dirt Road Anthem is holding down the #5 spot. There have been several occasions in the past in which Jason has held 2 or more spots in the Top 5, so this is no new accomplishment...but still pretty damn cool!
Also, JA serves as the background art for www.countryweekly.com right now, very appropriately modeling for Wrangler Retro. According to a recent interview with People, Jason has about 15 pairs of Wrangler "stage jeans" to choose from each night on the road.
In the www.tasteofcountry.com review of JA's latest single, Tattoos on this Town, they call JA "...country music's John Mellencamp. The songs he sings pick out a few tangible details and let listeners fill in the rest from personal memories. He finds singable melodies, and is careful not to over-perform." The reviewer adds, "it's difficult to imagine Tattoos failing to become Aldean's next big hit. There isn't a much hotter singer in country music right now, and this song is anything but a cold bucket of water." They go on to rate the song at 4.5 of 5 stars. Not too shabby!
That's all for now...have a great evening!
Sunday, 9.25.11
Hope everyone had a great weekend...we sure did, and of course, the entire chasinaldean crew is getting psyched for our evening with JA this coming Friday in Roanoke, VA!
Speaking of the upcoming Roanoke show, did you hear about the Flyaway auction for the Concert for Cure, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure? About 40 financially blessed fans battled it out on ebay for amazing prizes including airfare, front row seats to the Friday JA show, a private meet and greet with Jason, and pink Justin boots. This auction raised $7,500 for this very worthy cause!
Also, on Friday, 9.23, JA sold out his upcoming February 2012 show at Nashville's 15,000-seat Bridgestone Arena in a matter of MINUTES!
In chart news, Tattoos on this Town moved up 1 from 24 to 23 on the Billboard Country Songs chart this week. After 46 weeks on the Billboard Country Albums chart, the newly-minted DOUBLE-PLATINUM My Kinda Party is still riding high at #4 and sits at #3 on their Independent Albums Chart.
Later this week, in the run-up to the show on Friday, I plan to post pics of the shirts Hubs and I designed for the chasinaldean crew to wear, and some others as time allows!
Have a great week!

The only notable news I have is that Jason was nominated for two American Music Awards this week....he's up against Brad Paisley and Blake

Happy Hump Day! So, I'm really excited that I've gotten my t-shirt design for the 9/30 Concert for the Cure all squared away...I dreamed it and Hubs made it happen! I love that about him.
I was perusing some back issues of People Magazine over the weekend, and as I was mindlessly flipping through the pages, I stumble across, who else?! in a little article called "The World According to Jason Aldean!" Among his thoughts on favorite vacation spots ("the Redneck Riviera on the Florida Panhandle") and his Wrangler jeans, JA says that he "kills time on the tour bus by playing XBox and watching horror movies" and adds that because he's on the bus with six other guys, they don't get scared! Cute! He also shares his pre-show ritual with his band...a round of Patron Silver shots! A great start to an amazing 'Party!'
Today, Taste of Country (www.tasteofcountry.com) posted a story that JA has started narrowing down a pile of 20-25 song choices for his 5th album, which he will start recording in October after the MKP tour wraps. Sitting among the pile are about eight self-penned songs, so it'll be interesting to hear which ones make the cut!
When asked about his chances for taking home one (or all!) of his 5 CMA nominations in November, he says, "I think we've got as good a chance as anybody, y'know? I don't really care about nominations if we don't have a shot at winning."
Fingers crossed that this will be his year!
Bye for now!

If I've learned anything this week, it's that working full time, having clean laundry, keeping a food and a beer fridge stocked, hanging out with friends, AND building a website is tough!
I did take a little time today, though, to create a Pics page and upload a few shots from JA's show at John Paul Jones arena in Charlottesville, VA back on March 3rd, 2011. As a Hokie, it pains me to say that JPJ Arena was probably the nicest venue I've ever been to. Click the Pics page to take a look. I'll be pestering Mumba to give me her pics from some earlier JA shows (since she was the only one smart enough to bring a camera) and I'll upload those when I get them.
I can't wait to add more pics from the show that is just 10 DAYS AWAY (but who's counting) in Roanoke, VA and introduce you all to some of our friends whom we have the pleasure of accompanying to their first ever JA show! Their minds will be blown and their ears will ring for days!
We're also working on some t-shirt designs for the 9/30 show, and I'll show you guys the finished design when they're ready for the world to see!
It's a fairly slow news day otherwise...if you aren't already, make sure to 'Like' Jason Aldean on Facebook, so that you'll automatically be entered for some great prizes as he approaches 5 MILLION FB fans!
Later!

It's a fairly slow news day otherwise...if you aren't already, make sure to 'Like' Jason Aldean on Facebook, so that you'll automatically be entered for some great prizes as he approaches 5 MILLION FB fans!
Later!

Well, the end of another weekend is upon us....anyone else feeling the Sunday funk? Maybe writing great news about JA will help!
This week's Country Weekly features an article about JA's upcoming Concert for the Cure benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. ALL of the proceeds from his 9.30 show in ROANOKE, VA will be donated to this cause. As I'm sure you can guess, I am absolutely PSYCHED to be attending this, my 6th Jason Aldean show! Now, Jason, I really enjoyed you having Colt Ford perform 'Dirt Road' with you in VA Beach....but I think you should bring your friends Brantley Gilbert, Luda, and Kelly Clarkson along for the ride in Roanoke! Pleeeeease?!
Speaking of Ludacris, The Boot (http://www.theboot.com/) has named JA and Luda's (AMAZING) CMT Awards collaboration of 'Dirt Road' as #8 on their all-time list of the Top 10 Country-Pop Duets.
Now, let's see what our friends at Billboard (http://www.billboard.com/) have to say about Jason....
'Tattoos on this Town' has been awarded this week's "Greatest Gainer" on their Country Songs chart, leaping 5 spots from 29th to 24th in only its 5th week of release. I know 'Tattoos' will leave its mark on the charts!
Jason's My Kinda Party tour ranked 5th on Billboard's Top Tours across all genres for the 8/18-8/20 period, raking in just over $1.5 million in revenue over the three shows during that time frame. All three shows SOLD OUT with a combined attendance of 47,464.
I think it's important to mention a couple of things regarding these numbers. One item of note is that while Jason placed 5th in revenue, his attendance was second only to the American Idols Live tour. Furthermore, the Idols live attendance figure was spread across five shows versus Jason's three for the time frame. This is significant in two ways: these figures not only illustrate Jason's commitment to making his shows affordable to attend, but also, this means that more music fans were rockin' out with Jason Aldean than with any other artist in the industry. Period!
On that note, I'm out! Chat soon!

Hi everyone, my name is Jodi, and I'm so glad you stopped by chasinaldean.com! As many of my friends and relatives can tell you, I'm a little obsessed with country music, and in particular, the guy who made country cool again, Jason Aldean. Instead of toning it down a bit, I decided to ramp up the intensity by creating a page devoted to all things Jason!
Today marks the launch of this site, so if you are checking us out in the early stages, please check back often because much more information is soon to come! We plan to post concert photos (I've seen the dude in concert 5 times--show #6 will be at the end of September)and a calendar to update everyone on JA's upcoming concerts, TV appearances, and awards show performances. We also plan to post links to videos, magazine and online articles about Jason. Finally, we'd like to create an online resource for other fans like us to share their own media and thoughts about concert venues, performances, and anything else related to JA!
